Meet Young Dickson, better known as YD, an incredibly talented singer, rapper, and songwriter from the vibrant city of Accra, Ghana. His journey in music began at a young age; he was only 5 years old when he faced the heartbreaking loss of his mother. During this challenging and emotional period, YD found comfort and solace in music, often singing himself to cope with his feelings. As he navigated through his grief, he discovered a newfound passion for music that would shape his future. YD's early education took place at St. Anglican Primary School in Dunkwa-on-Offin, but he later moved to Bepose in the western region of Ghana. By the time he reached the age of 9, he had already linked up with Abosom, a popular music group in Bepose, where he made a name for himself as a young rapper. Known for his impressive freestyle skills and musical talent, he quickly became a beloved local figure. As his talent continued to evolve, YD began to compose his own music, showcasing his creativity and unique voice. His first composition, titled "Akolakyitua tsis3 wo" (meaning "a little child like you"), was written when he was just 10 years old. Since then, he has created numerous unrecorded and recorded songs, marking his growth as an artist. With each step in his career, YD's stage name has evolved, reflecting his journey and dedication to his craft.
